Speaker:  Robert R. Hill, Jr.


[cid:image003.png at 01CCD51D.0493E170]Robert R. Hill, Jr., serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of South Carolina Bank and Trust. He joined the University of South Carolina Development Foundation in 2004 and serves as a member of the Audit and Budget Committee.

Mr. Hill received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Citadel in 1988 and a Master of Business Administration from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina in 1955. He began his banking career at Wachovia in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1991, he became commercial banking manager at Rock Hill National Bank. In 1995, he founded the National Bank of York County and served as president and CEO. In 1998 he was named chief operating officer of South Carolina Bank and Trust and in 1999 he was named president and chief operating officer.

Mr. Hill was named Outstanding Young Banker in 2000 and the Moore School of Business presented him with the Distinguished Young Alumnus Award in 2004. He is serving or has served on the boards of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Museum of Art, South Carolina Bankers Association Young Bankers Division, Central Carolina Community Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of America, and the South Carolina Museum Foundation. He is chair-elect for the South Carolina Banker's School.
