The website below contains information about registration and schedule (which will be updated as we have more information), as well as on the possible financial support for students (we can cover their hotel): http://math.kennesaw.edu/conferences/KMUMC2011/index.html As we plan it now, the conference will consist of two "parts". On Friday, November 11, there will be afternoon seminars for faculty (workshop on Inquiry Based Learning) followed by dinner, and a social math activity for student (contests and math scavenger hunt). On Saturday, November 12, there will be a keynote address ???Blown Away: what Knot to Do When Sailing?? ?by Sir Randolph Bacon III cousin-in-law to Colin Adams, Williams College (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Adams_(mathematician) ) as well as two 30-minutes invited talks: "How many cycles can you guarantee?" by Patrick Bahls (UNCA) "Game Theory and Competitive Bidding" by Brett Katzman (KSU) and panel on Careers with Math, possibly session on International Opportunities, and parallel session of 15-minutes talks (by students and faculty), seminar for the faculty. If you have students who worked with you on a project, participated in REU's, independent studies or interesting internships, who is starting to work on their thesis or capstone project, who is preparing to present their work at the Joint Meetings or in Nebraska -- please encourage them to participate. However, presentations are not required for participation - if you have great students who you think would benefit from interaction with their colleagues and see what research has been done by other students - please encourage them to participate as well, if possible. The registration deadline is October 15 and the deadline for abstract submission (by email to me) is October 25. There is a registration fee of $10 for all students and faculty - to help us cover the cost of reception, breakfast, lunch and two coffee breaks. I also invite faculty to give a short talk (I will be giving one myself). Looking forward to hearing any feedback from you and welcoming you on KSU campus! Thank you very much for your attention!
