Hi all,

I don't know if I sent the information below to y'all already or not.
It is information about NSF funded programs for grad school.

I hope that you are all doing well.

Dear Kevin:

In our efforts as a National Science Foundation grantee working with
Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate to promote
resources for students pursuing careers in STEM, the Institute for
Broadening Participation provides current information on NSF
opportunities for you to share with your students and colleagues ---
particularly those activities that support graduate students. As you
know, students who have one or more REU experiences are highly likely to
pursue a graduate degree. For this reason we attempt to reach as many
of these students as possible. Students can visit www.agep.us
<http://www.agep.us>; www.igert.org <http://www.igert.org> and
www.ibparticipation.org <http://www.ibparticipation.org> for specific
programmatic information on AGEP, IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education
Research Traineeships, REU Programs and others.

In addition, if they have not done so already, we suggest that students
who are actively seeking information on graduate school this year may
want to fill out our on-line form at:
http://www.ibparticipation.org/IBPForm.asp or
http://www.agep.us/contactprogram.asp, or
http://www.igert.org/contactprogram.asp

or the student information form (attached)---whichever is most
convenient for them-- and submit it on the web or forward it to our
office by mail or fax. This will enable us to send them information
about graduate school scholarship/fellowship/traineeship opportunities,
research opportunities, and new programs, opportunities, and remind them
about deadlines.

While we have already heard from many of this year's summer REU students
there are a few who may be interested in pursuing graduate studies who
have not had a chance to send in their contact information.

Thank you for your help spreading the word about NSF graduate funding
opportunities. We wish you a happy and productive summer! Please let us
know if we can provide any other information you may find helpful for
your students.

Sandy Thomas
