Dear Colleague:

I'm writing to tell you about the upcoming Nebraska Conference for
Undergraduate Women in Mathematics and to ask for your help in identifying
outstanding undergraduate women to invite.

The Tenth Annual Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in
Mathematics will be held February 8-10, 2008, at the University of
Nebraska--Lincoln. This conference will bring together outstanding
undergraduate women mathematicians from across the country and give
those who have already done research an opportunity to present their
results. We are celebrating our tenth anniversary by having four
distinguished NCUWM alumnae as plenary speakers, to talk about their
careers and research:
	Katherine Bartley, National Security Agency;
		NCUWM 2000, 2001; PhD, 2006 (Nebraska)
	Rebecca Caldwell, Axciom Corporation;
		NCUWM 2003; JD, 2006 (Arkansas)
	Angela Desai, University of Montevallo;
		NCUWM 2000; PhD, 2006 (Maryland)
	Cornelia Yuen, SUNY Potsdam;
		NCUWM 2001; PhD, 2006 (Michigan)

There will also be panel discussions on graduate programs in mathematics
and careers in mathematics. More information about the conference is
available on the web, at http://www.math.unl.edu/~ncuwm

Last year, over two hundred undergraduates attended the conference and
roughly 50 presented their research. Many of the presenters talked about
research done in REU programs. In light of this, we are writing to ask
you to recommend women students for us to invite to our conference, either
participants in your REU program or other outstanding women who would
benefit from attending the conference.

If you could, please send a list of names and contact information (email
addresses, if possible). Please contact us if you have any questions. We
appreciate your help in making sure that students have the chance to
participate in the conference. Also, feel free to tell those you
recommend about the conference.

Due to the generous support of the National Science Foundation and the
National Security Agency, the conference is able to cover local expenses
(lodging and most meals) for all undergraduate women participants. We
also are able to cover some participant travel costs, when participants'
home institutions are not able to fully cover their costs. We very much
appreciate the contributions of home institutions, which allow more
students to attend the conference.

We can be reached either by email or regular mail and can accept lists
by both methods (email is preferred). The conference email address is
ncuwm at math.unl.edu and the regular mail address is:
