Dear all:

This is our first announcement for the

       fifth YOUNG MATHEMATICIANS CONFERENCE at

The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio on

                 August 17 - 19, 2007.

The conference provides an opportunity for undergraduate students
around the country to present their research in mathematics in
short talks and posters, and for mentors to exchange ideas. You can
  browse previous YMC events at

           http://www.math.osu.edu/conferences/ymc

  This year's plenary speakers are

          Ruth Charney (Brandeis University)
          Dennis DeTurck (University of Pennsylvania)
          Amelia Taylor (Colorado College)

We are pleased to announce that we have received sufficient funds to
support approx. 70 student participants and several mentors as we did
in previous years. The tentative application deadline for support is

July 18th, 2007 (subject to change)

The web page for 2007 is still under construction and will open in
about three weeks from now. It will contain online application forms
for students and mentors as well as a lot of useful conference
information. You will be able to access the YMC 2007 site through our
  main page at

           http://www.math.osu.edu/conferences/ymc

We'd greatly appreciate if you could let your students, colleagues,
peers, or anyone else involved in undergraduate research know about
our conference and forward this announcement and the links to them.

We will send out further announcements once the web page is up and
more detailed information about the conference is available.

  Thank you!

On behalf of the YMC Advisory Board,

                       Thomas Kerler (YMC Organizer 2003-2007)
