Dear Advisor,

We hope you are having a wonderful time conducting research with your current cohort of REU students and hope to see their accomplishments at the  Undergraduate Student Research Poster Session held at the Joint Meetings of the AMS/MAA in New Orleans on Saturday January 6, 2007 3:00-5:30 pm. There are some changes regarding submissions this year.  In order to organize the large number of poster abstracts, submissions will be electronic.  Interested students can obtain information on the session and submit their abstracts online at http://www.maa.org/students/undergrad/poster07.html

Abstract submission begins on August 1, 2006 with a deadline of November 1, 2006.  Notification of acceptance will be e-mailed no later than two weeks after the abstract has been submitted. Encourage your students to apply early since space is limited.

As in the past, the session is reserved for undergraduates and first year graduate students who are submitting posters on work done while undergraduates. Each poster will be evaluated by at least three judges and the posters with the highest rankings will receive monetary awards provided by the Moore Foundation, MAA, AMS, AWM, and CUR. Trifold, self-standing 48" by 36" tabletop posters will be provided. Additional material or equipment is the responsibility of the presenters.
