Hello,

I'm writing on behalf of the NSF IGERT National Recruitment Program, to ask
for your help in telling REU students about IGERT opportunities for graduate
school.

As you may know, the NSF funds IGERT PhD programs around the country which
offer interdisciplinary training in the sciences and engineering.  IGERT
trainees receive a cutting edge education in their chosen field(s) as well
as generous stipend and tuition support.  Please see www.igert.org for
details.

I hope you will take the time to mention IGERT to your REU students this
summer.  NSF is very interested in increasing connections among their funded
programs, so we are working to strengthen the link between REU and IGERT
sites.  

I'm taking the liberty of attaching two documents for your information.  The
first is a one-page summary of IGERT opportunities.  The other is a form for
students to fill out and mail or fax to our office if they're interested in
IGERT.  Could you please print and post a copy of these, or make copies
available to your REU students while they're on campus? We'd be very
grateful.
