conference to attend and present your REU findings.

This is the first announcement of the 2006 CarMa (Carolinas Mathematics)
Undergraduate Research Conference.  This will be a one-day event, held on
Friday, March 24, 2006 at Furman University.

The conference will begin with a plenary address by Peter Winkler of
Dartmouth College, titled "Geometry and the Intuition".  This will be
followed
by lunch, with undergraduate presentations in the afternoon.

All interested undergraduates are invited to attend, along with their
faculty sponsors.  Undergraduates are encouraged to give talks on research
they have conducted.   We welcome presentations in any area of mathematics.

In the near future we will mail a conference poster, and our website

will carry updated conference information.  Registration will be conducted
online, and is free of charge.  We will also send further announcements by
email.

Please encourage undergraduates that you know who might be interested to
consider attending.  Thanks, and we hope to see you in the spring.
