OSC has received funding from several federal programs, including the
U.S. Economic Development Association and the National Science
Foundation, for two systems developers and a systems specialist to
assist industry and the wider research user community in their modeling
and simulation needs. We would like to enlist your support in
publicizing these recently posted positions.

The Ohio Supercomputer Center at The Ohio State University is currently
accepting applications for a *Systems Developer/Engineer* position. The
successful candidate will perform directed software development and
programming in support of sponsored, defined projects involving
web-based computational software portals; prepare and present
documentation, reports, and application code; perform computer
programming for sponsored projects and research in high performance
computing related to web-based portals that provide access to domain
specific computational solvers; perform guided work towards defined
milestones and deliverables such as software demonstrations, codes, and
reports, under guidance of principal investigators; and utilize accepted
software development processes to deliver reliable application code for
use within sponsored projects as requested.
Required:**Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an equivalent
combination of education and experience; experienced software developer;
proficient in JAVA technologies; good oral and written communications
skills.

OSC is also accepting applications for a *Systems Developer/Engineer*
position. The successful candidate will assist High Performance
Computing (HPC) users by providing consulting services and presenting
training workshops to Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) user community;
assist HPC users with debugging application problems and optimizing
application performance for efficient use on OSC systems; collaborate
with the HPC user community, OSC research staff, and participates in
long-range planning for the Ohio Supercomputer Center; design, prepare
and present training workshops for the High Performance Computing (HPC)
community; respond to HPC user questions; develop specialized computer
codes and assists HPC users in code conversion utilizing advanced tools
for code performance analysis and debugging, evaluates engineering
codes; research and analyze algorithms for HPC platforms; maintain a
broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology equipment, and/or
systems, and HPC as a whole; and participate in long-range planning for
training.
Required: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education
and experience; C/C++/Fortran/Java programming and UNIX scripting
experience; ability to program and debug MPI and similar parallel codes;
ability to work independently and in a team environment; excellent
writing and communication skills.

successful candidate will provide operating system, software, hardware
installation and support of systems at the Ohio Supercomputer Center;
support, with supervision, the software environment that runs on and
support the high performance computing systems located at the Ohio
Supercomputer Center; perform maintenance and troubleshoot problems;
support the software portal environment, including web services, account
management and authentication, system monitoring and VM environments;
and have experience working in Linux and Microsoft Windows Operating
Systems.The candidate also will assist with short- and long-range plans
