<h1>Purpose and Eligibility<span></span></h1>

<p class="MsoNormal">The journal of IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems
Engineering is pleased to announce the establishment of “<b>Best Reviewer of
the Year” </b>Award. This prestigious recognition aims to honor the exceptional
contributions and dedication of reviewers who play a crucial role in
maintaining the high quality and standards of our journal. <span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The award represents our commitment to recognizing and
rewarding peer review in advancing the field of healthcare systems engineering.
Through this award, we aim to inspire and motivate our reviewers to continue
their outstanding service in shaping the high-quality landscape of Healthcare
Systems Engineering.<span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">To be eligible, the award recipient should meet the
following criteria: <span></span></p>

<ol style="margin-top:0in" start="1" type="1">
 <li class="MsoNormal">Have
     served as a reviewer for the journal of IISE Transactions on Healthcare
     Systems Engineering.<span></span></li>
 <li class="MsoNormal">Not
     received this award in the previous year.<span></span></li>

<h1>Award Frequency and Limitations<span></span></h1>

<p class="MsoNormal">This Award will be presented annually to highlight
excellence in the peer review service. To maintain the prestige of this honor,
the award is limited to<span style="color:red"> </span>two recipients per year,
reflecting the exceptional review service and performance. <span></span></p>

<h1>Eligibility for Future Awards<span></span></h1>

<p class="MsoNormal">Previous award recipients can be considered again after a
one-year break. There is no limit to how many times an individual can receive
the award, encouraging continued contributions and services to the high quality
and standards of IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering.<span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Each year, the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) will appoint an Associate
Editor (AE) to chair the award nomination and selection process. The chair will
form an award committee that includes at least two additional editorial board
members. <span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Members of the previous year’s award committee are not
eligible to serve on the award committee. This composition shall ensure fair
and transparent evaluations from diverse perspectives across different
departments of the journal.<span></span></p>

<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc">
 <li class="MsoNormal">By December 1^st of each year, each editor
     can nominate up to 2 candidates from their areas for this award.<span></span></li>
 <li class="MsoNormal">The award committee
     will evaluate the annual performance reports of reviewers and select the best
     reviewers among the nominations, based on performance criteria that
     include:<span></span></li>
 <ul style="margin-top:0in" type="circle">
  <li class="MsoNormal">The number of papers reviewed in the year.<span></span></li>
  <li class="MsoNormal">The average of review turnaround time.<span></span></li>
  <li class="MsoNormal">The quality of reviews (in-depth, constructive,
      clear guidance to authors).<span></span></li>
  <li class="MsoNormal">Editors’ feedback about the reviewers.<span></span></li>
 </ul>

<p class="MsoNormal">The award committee shall review all nominations to confirm
eligibility requirements are met. Conflicts of interests (e.g., categorized by
NSF) shall be declared and avoided during the evaluation and selection process.<span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The award will be presented annually at the <i>IISE Annual
Conference</i>, typically held in May, offering an opportunity to publicly
