Special Issue Announcement
Operations Research and Artificial Intelligent (AI) Models for Maintenance Management of Engineering Assets
The maintenance of complex engineering assets, e.g. power generators, telecom networks, etc., poses significant challenges due to their compound nature, high costs, and criticality for operational safety. Operations research techniques offer a systematic
approach to optimize the maintenance activities, while AI methods, such as machine learning and meta-heuristics, enable predictive maintenance and intelligent decision-making. This call invites researchers and practitioners to explore innovative applications
of operations research and AI in addressing maintenance management challenges, including but not limited to maintenance decision optimization, asset prioritization, maintenance scheduling, condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and spare parts inventory optimization.
Contributions from diverse fields, including industrial engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, and management science, are encouraged to advance the state-of-the-art in maintenance management and facilitate decision support systems that enhance
engineering asset performance, reliability, and availability.
