seeks applicants for one or more faculty positions as part of a college wide cluster hire in the broad area of Biomedical Engineering. Successful candidates are expected to start in the Fall 2024 semester. Successful candidates will contribute to 1) the new
master’s program in biomedical engineering, 2) develop funded research in biomedical engineering, and 3) collaborate with the School of Medicine. The <span class="caps">MAIE</span> program has <span class="caps">ABET</span> accreditation. The <span class="caps">MAIE</span> department
has an enrollment of over 120 UG students and 50 master’s degree students<strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">. </span></strong>The College of Engineering & Computer Science has a new interdisciplinary PhD program in materials science and

university of the 21st century in Texas. This transformative initiative provided the opportunity to expand educational opportunities in the Rio Grande Valley, including a new School of Medicine, and made it possible for residents of the region to benefit from
the Permanent University Fund – a public endowment contributing support to the University of Texas System and other institutions.<br>

<span class="caps">UTRGV</span> has campuses and off-campus research and teaching sites throughout the Rio Grande Valley including in Boca Chica Beach, Brownsville (formerly The University of Texas at Brownsville campus), Edinburg (formerly The University of
Texas-Pan American campus), Harlingen, McAllen, Port Isabel, Rio Grande City, and South Padre Island. <span class="caps">UTRGV</span>, a comprehensive academic institution, enrolled its first class in the fall of 2015, and the School of Medicine welcomed its
first class in the summer of 2016.<br>

<span class="caps">UTRGV</span> is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security
sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (<span class="caps">TRS</span>), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at
least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (<span class="caps">ORP</span>) instead of <span class="caps">TRS</span>, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.<br>
