Dr. Tri Nguyen-Quang (Dalhousie University) will lead Session SS012: Transforming Aquatic Research: The Benefits and Drawbacks of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the ASLO-SIL 2026 Joint Meeting in Montreal, Canada (May 12–16, 2026). This session explores the cutting-edge advances and applications of AI in aquatic ecosystems, addressing both opportunities and challenges.

Who Should Participate? We invite contributions from:

  *   AI and aquatic scientists (oceanography, fisheries, water quality, etc.)
  *   Ethicists and policymakers (regulation, bias, societal impact)
  *   Industry innovators (startups, tech companies, NGOs) applying AI in real-world projects
  *   Early-career researchers and community representatives to ensure diverse perspectives and foster collaboration

Key Details:

  *   Abstract Submission Deadline: November 19, 2025, at 11:59 pm Central Time (USA)
  *   Presentation Rules:
     *   One presentation per presenting author (oral or poster).
     *   Each abstract requires a paid registration.
     *   Authors may submit one abstract to a scientific session and a second abstract to an education/policy session without an additional fee.
