The Energy Systems Division at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in optimization, data analytics, and computational modeling to address emerging challenges in the evolving energy sector.

The successful candidate will join the Advanced Grid Modeling, Optimization, and Analytics Group, which develops advanced optimization, simulation, and AI models, along with open-source computational tools that support next-generation energy systems research. The position offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge problems in energy sector. In addition, the postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading experts across national laboratories, universities, and industry; publish in high-impact journals and conferences; and contribute to open-source software that supports the broader research community. Qualifications:

  *   Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  *   Strong knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:
     *   Optimization: mixed-integer programming and nonlinear programming
     *   Data analytics: stochastic processes, neural networks (LLM, transformers, etc.), or statistical modeling
     *   Computational methods: algorithm design and numerical analysis
  *   Proficiency in Julia or Python is preferred.
