The Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE) at the University of Michigan (U-M) welcomes applications for faculty positions at all ranks (assistant, associate, and full professor) for an appointment beginning September 2026. Our multidisciplinary department integrates theoretical, methodological, and applied research interests. Qualifications:
You have a Ph.D. and show a commitment to high-quality research and evidence of teaching success and/or potential, as appropriate. You are dedicated to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, and will develop impactful, productive, and innovative research programs. We welcome candidates at all levels (tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor) from all areas related to Industrial and Operations Engineering, including Operations Research (particularly Applied Probability and Stochastic Simulation), Data and Decision Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and related disciplines. Our department’s application areas include energy & sustainability, health & human safety, manufacturing, mobility & transportation, operations management, public policy, and robotics.
