Dear colleagues,

The University of Massachusetts Amherst is now accepting applications for the Summer 2026 NSF RIDE REU Site. This will be our 4th cohort!

This 10-week research program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to conduct hands-on research in transportation safety and participate in a range of professional development activities. Participants will receive $7000 stipend for the entire summer, housing in one of our newest dormitories, and meal vouchers to dine in our award winning dining halls.

Many industrial engineering-related projects are being offered for Summer 2026, making this an excellent opportunity for IE undergraduates interested in research and professional development.

Students can click on “Apply Here!” on the website to submit their applications. The program is open to all U.S. citizens and permanent residents enrolled in an undergraduate program at any U.S. institution as of Fall 2026.
