Call for Nominations from Department Chairs Due Monday, March 24, 2025

The Council of Industrial & Systems Engineering Academic Department Heads (CIEADH) and the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) request nominations for the 23rd Annual IISE Doctoral Colloquium to be held Saturday, May 31 with a “3-Minute Thesis Pitch” competition to follow on Sunday, June 1.

This in-person event is designed for doctoral candidates expecting to graduate by Spring 2027. Panels of experts will lead discussions on various topics of interest, including job search, interviewing tips, choosing a career, life in academia and industry, career-life balance, diversity in the workplace, and professional service. Students are required to give a short presentation of their dissertation research during a “3-Minute Thesis Pitch” competition on Sunday, June 1. The top presentations will receive prize money. Participants in the 3-Minute Thesis Pitch are required to attend the colloquium. Winners will be acknowledged at the CIEADH meeting on Monday, June 2.

Nominations must be made by department chairs. Departments should limit nominations to a maximum of three students. Please contact your department chair to nominate a student.

Nominations must be received by Monday, March 24, 2025, although early nominations are encouraged. Nominees will be notified by March 28, 2025.
