Dear colleagues:
I am writing to bring two IISE Awards that focus on international work to your attention. The first is for IE's who have distinguished themselves in the discipline and reside outside the United States. The second is for ALL individuals who have made impactful contributions to the discipline within a global context.
It is important (critical?) for each of us to endeavor to 'flatten the world' and globalize/ unite our discipline to provide it with even more visibility and impact. Many of us routinely travel overseas and interact with our colleagues in other countries. If you know of ANY individuals who are worthy of these awards, I urge you to consider developing nomination packages for them (or even for yourself). I am working with Professors Hamid Parsaei (hamid.parsaei at tamu.edu<mailto:hamid.parsaei at tamu.edu>) and Waldemar Karwowski (wkarwowski at gmail.com<mailto:wkarwowski at gmail.com>) to help publicize these awards in an effort to strengthen the international flavor of IISE. Your assistance and support in publicizing these awards, and in developing nominations will be greatly appreciated.
If you need any further information, please feel free me to contact Hamid or Waldemar or myself.
Many thanks for your consideration.
Respectfully
Bopaya Bidanda
