The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, is excited to invite qualified applicants to apply for two full-time, tenure-track, academic-year faculty positions beginning Fall 2025.



Position #1: With appointment at the Assistant Professor rank, this position is for teaching and research interests in the design, modeling, and analysis of production systems for manufactured goods and/or digital products, including but not limited to areas such as: information systems for operations such as manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise/materials resource planning (ERP/MRP); smart manufacturing systems and data informatics; simulation and digital twins; production, inventory, and facilities planning; and expanding productive capacity for sustainable development.  Salary will be commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected. Qualified candidates with industry experience are encouraged to apply. Anticipated hiring range: $106,000 - $118,000 per year.  A Ph.D. in industrial engineering, systems engineering, computer/data science, or a closely related field is required for appointment. Candidates must have a strong commitment to inclusive teaching excellence and laboratory-based instruction as well as broad-based knowledge of industrial or manufacturing engineering.  An ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and administration from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds is essential. Position #2: With appointment at the Assistant Professor rank, this position is for teaching and research interests in strategic engineering managementof systems for energy, health, technology, services, or other industrial applications, including but not limited to areas such as: modeling, simulation, and analysis of sustainable and resilient systems; technology integration and management for Industry 4.0/5.0; engineering economics and change management; product development; industrial informatics for strategic data-driven decision-making; and integration of social and technical systems.  Salary will be commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected. Qualified candidates with industry experience are encouraged to apply.
