The Auburn University Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the field of systems engineering with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2025. The position is open to all sub-fields of systems engineering, with particular interest in: 1) systems engineering and artificial intelligence; 2) systems of systems; 3) model-based systems engineering; 4) cognitive systems engineering; 5) desire candidates with applications in cyber-security and cyber-physical systems, manufacturing and service operations, and/or military and security systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong extramurally-funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, contribute to mentoring students, participate in outreach, and provide service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate is expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, and leadership to the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Eligible candidates must hold an earned doctorate in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline at the time of employment.

The department is comprised of 21 faculty members (16 tenure track), 216 graduate students (79 of whom are in the doctoral program), and 475 undergraduate students (approximately 34% female and 13% underrepresented minorities). Our student population has grown over 230% in the last ten years
and we have hired ten new faculty members in that period. Auburn University is located in Auburn, Alabama, approximately 1-½ hours southeast from Atlanta, Ga., 50 minutes from the capital, Montgomery, and 2 hours from Birmingham.
