The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Houston is inviting faculty candidates for multiple open positions: Two endowed full professors, one assistant/associate professor, and one non-tenure track teaching faculty (see attached).

Endowed Professors - Industrial Engineering (FAC003545) (2 positions)
Description: The Department of Industrial Engineering (IE) at the University of Houston invites applications for the Durga and Sushila Agrawal Industrial Engineering Endowed Professorships at the rank of Full Professor and the Anuradha and Rani Agrawal Industrial Engineering Endowed Professorship at the rank of Full Professor to begin Fall 2025. We are looking for strong candidates with a solid methodological background in broad areas in industrial engineering; Operations Research, Manufacturing, Human Factors and Machine Learning with innovative applications in Healthcare, Energy, or Complex Systems.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering or a closely related field. Candidates for the endowed professors must have demonstrated distinguished records in all aspects of research, teaching, and leadership with a sustained vibrant research program funded by competitive funding agencies. They are expected to develop and foster nationally recognized, cross-disciplinary research programs. Successful applicants must demonstrate a record of developing and maintaining a vigorous research program, sustaining a strong record of peer-reviewed publication, external funding, advising students, and teaching innovation.
Assistant/Associate Professor - Energy Transition Innovations (FAC003611) - Industrial Engineering - (1 position)
Description: The Department of Industrial Engineering (IE) at the University of Houston invites applications for tenure-track Presidential Frontier Faculty (PFF) candidates at the assistant or associate professor level with exceptional skills for inspiring, teaching, and cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in Energy Transition Innovations through Process Systems Engineering and Optimization. The Presidential Frontier Faculty program is a university-wide integrated interdisciplinary hiring campaign that is overseen by central university leadership and encompasses hiring a large cohort of convergence research faculty to work on energy, health, sustainability, and security.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering or a closely related field. The candidate is expected to develop and foster nationally recognized, cross-disciplinary research programs. NTT Instructional Assistant Professor - Systems Engineering/Industrial Engineering (FAC003546) - 1 position
Description: The Department of Industrial Engineering (IE) at the University of Houston invites applications for a full-time Instructional Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2025 for its newly established Bachelor's degree program in Systems Engineering located in Katy, TX.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree in systems engineering or a closely related field.
Duties: The responsibilities include (1) teaching three courses relevant to the program in Industrial and Systems Engineering per semester or equivalent course development duties as determined by the IE Department chair and (2) contributing to service and administrative tasks as required in the department.
Terms: It is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track position. Appointments are made on an annual 9-month basis, salary commensurate with experience.
