[IISE Faculty List] Advanced graduate student and early career hazards and disaster researcher fellowship

Dear Colleagues,

The University of Washington’s Center for Disaster Resilient Communities is
offering a hands-on training program in environmental and public health
disaster research methods and skills for up to 25 advanced graduate students
and early career hazards and disaster researchers from across the United
States.

This fellowship includes a weeklong in-person intensive at the University
of Washington Seattle Campus from August 5-9, 2024 followed by a yearlong
applied research experience during which scholars will develop their own
research projects.

Applications will be accepted until March 29th, 2024 (9PM PDT) and will be
reviewed with acceptances sent out in mid-April to early-May. Need-based
travel stipends are available and funding is available to support eligible
William Averette Anderson Fund Fellows.

Candidates of any identity and background are welcome to apply. We strongly
encourage submissions from those with diverse lived experiences, such as
BIPOC scholars, LGBTQIA+ scholars, scholars from economically disadvantaged
backgrounds, first-generation scholars, and scholars from communities that
experience disproportionate disaster risk.
