[IISE Faculty List] REMINDER: CALL FOR PAPERS-- INFORMS 2024 Data Mining Best Paper Award Competition

The Data Mining (DM) Society of INFORMS announces the DM Best Paper Competition to recognize excellence among its members. The competition will have two tracks: General Track for the Best Paper Award and Student Track for the Best Student Paper Award. Four finalists will be selected for each track to make oral presentations at the 2024 INFORMS Annual Conference to be held in Seattle, WA, Oct. 20-23, 2024.

The objective of the best paper competition is to recognize excellence among high-quality research works of DM Society members and bring prestige to the DM Society as well as to the recipients. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  *   Decision-making based on Large-Scale Multi-modal Data
  *   Web Data Analytics / Web Mining
  *   Text mining
  *   Bayesian Data Analytics
  *   Healthcare Analytics
  *   Simulation / Optimization in Data Analytics
  *   Interpretable Data Mining
  *   Longitudinal Data Analysis
  *   Causal Mining (Inference)
  *   Analytics in Social Media & Finance
  *   Monitoring and Anomaly Detection
  *   Federated and Distributed Learning in business analytics and engineering applications
  *   Deep learning methods for business analytics and engineering applications
  *   Generative AI
  *   Other Applications of Data Science

Eligibility Requirements:

  *   The award nominee must be a member of the DM Society.
  *   For the student track, the Award nominee should be a student member of the DM Society by the time of submission and should be the lead author and main contributor of the submitted work.   *   The submitted paper should be unpublished work.
  *   Previous finalists who wish to compete again should submit an entirely different paper.
  *   The best paper finalists will be announced before the conference and will present their papers in the DM Best Paper Competition Session at the INFORMS 2024 Annual Conference.
  *   Papers considered for this competition cannot be simultaneously submitted to other competitions at the INFORMS 2024 Annual Conference.
  *   Required paper format: maximum of 12 pages with 1-inch margins (including references), single column, single-spaced with a 50-word abstract.

All paper submissions will be evaluated by external referees using double-blind reviewing. Four finalists for each track will be selected by external review evaluation. The winners of the Best Paper Award and the Best Student Paper Award will be decided upon the review evaluation and the oral presentation at the INFORMS Annual Conference. Decision notifications to authors will be released in early September.
