We are excited to announce the upcoming special issue of Journal of Quality Technology, titled "Advancing the Future of Quality Technology with Artificial Intelligence," set to be published at the end of 2025. This special issue, guest edited by L. Allison Jones-Farmer (Miami University), Bianca Colosimo (Politecnico di Milano), Fadel Megahed (Miami University), Giovanna Capizzi (University of Padua), Kamran Paynabar (Georgia Institute of Technology), and Shan Ba (LinkedIn Corporation), will explore the opportunities and challenges posed by AI and Generative AI in the field of quality and reliability engineering. The primary objective of this special issue is to highlight innovative AI-based approaches that enhance, complement, or replace traditional solutions in quality technology, especially in the face of challenges presented by modern workplaces. Highlighted topics include AI-enhanced data analysis, AI-assisted process monitoring and fault detection, system optimization with AI, and human-AI collaboration in quality control.
