[IISE Faculty List] New editor-in-chief for IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering and farewell message

Dear colleagues,
I am delighted to inform you that Professor Hui Yang from Penn State will become the next Editor-in-Chief of IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering as of January 1, 2024. Professor Yang has been serving on our journal’s editorial board for several years now, and I am confident that he will take our journal to the next level.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all during my tenure as Editor-in-Chief since 2020. During these four years, journal’s reputation and statistics improved substantially including the impact factor, number of submissions, number of downloaded articles. Our review times dropped significantly, and author surveys show a very high satisfaction with the journal’s review process. In recognition of the journal’s growing impact, Web of Science has recently (November 2023) started indexing our journal as part of their Emerging Science Citation Index.

None of these would have been possible without a dedicated editorial board, the authors who chose us to publish their high-quality works, and the strong support of the IE community.

I am grateful for your support to our journal. I am hoping that we will continue to support IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering as Professor Yang leads the journal over the next several years.

It has been my pleasure to serve the IE community.
