Joint Cullen College of Engineering and College of Medicine Faculty Position (FAC003211)
The Cullen College of Engineering (CCE) and the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine (COM) at the University of Houston (UH) seek tenure-track Presidential Frontier Faculty candidates at the assistant or associate professor level with exceptional skills for inspiring, teaching and cutting-edge interdisciplinary research. The Presidential Frontier Faculty program is a university-wide integrated interdisciplinary hiring campaign that is overseen by central university leadership and encompasses hiring a large cohort of convergence research faculty to work on health, energy, sustainability and security.
The position will be a joint hire between the two colleges.
We would like to recruit candidates with an exemplary track record in Public and Population Health Informatics. The successful candidate will join one of the CCE departments where they can flourish in research and teaching.
The candidates should be at the forefront of one or more of the following domains: integration of ubiquitous computing, smart sensors and environments, personalized and pervasive health technologies (u-, p-, m- and e-Health), telemedicine with clinical innovations including home healthcare and wellness management, clinical information systems, evidence based solutions, applying machine learning/AI approaches to healthcare data, including those captured from electronic medical records and clinical trials, healthcare delivery, equitable and accessible healthcare, clinical decision support systems to monitor and manage medical, environmental, and social factors to improve the health conditions and outcomes of communities.
Candidates must hold a PhD and/or MD degree in the area appropriate to the applicant's specialized field, a strong record/potential for independent extramural funding, and a solid publication record in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of the ASPIRE Institute on Health Care Innovations.
