We are pleased to announce that the 2024 Early-career Sustainable Operations Workshop will be held at the College of Business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during the last weekend of February 2024 (i.e., Feb 23-25). The workshop seeks to provide research presentation and networking opportunities to early-career scholars who work in sustainable operations management.

The workshop will consist of a reception on Friday night (Feb 23), followed by a full day of presentations on Saturday (Feb 24), and a half day of presentations on Sunday (Feb 25). The registration fee will be $100 per person.

This year's program committee includes Erkut Sonmez and Jennifer Ryan from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Priyank Arora from University of South Carolina. We are also grateful for guidance from the steering committee, which includes Tim Kraft (NC State), Beril Toktay (Georgia Tech), and Safak Yucel (Georgetown).

We invite junior academics (untenured faculty) and PhD students who are interested in presenting to submit either:

  * a working paper (with a 32-page limit) to be considered for a full presentation, or
  * a one-page abstract on an exploratory topic to be considered for a flash talk.
The latter category is ideal for individuals who are looking for early feedback or potential collaborators for pursuing a new topic.

Please send your materials to 2024SustainableOM at gmail.com<mailto:2024SustainableOM at gmail.com> by December 7, 2023, making sure to note the name of the presenter. Notification of acceptance will be sent by January 12, 2024. In addition, all full presentations will be eligible for a "People's Choice Award," for which the winner(s) will be decided by attendee voting at the end of the workshop.

The workshop website, including travel and accommodation information is available here: https://business.unl.edu/sustainableOM.

The workshop registration link will also be available on the website soon.

The workshop is generously supported by the Dean's Office at the College of Business, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.

For questions and further information, please contact Erkut Sonmez at esonmez2 at unl.edu<mailto:esonmez2 at unl.edu> .
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you in Lincoln, Nebraska!

Regards,
Erkut, Jennifer, and Priyank
