The Department of Industrial Engineering (IE) at Clemson University invites applications for a Professor of Practice non-tenure track faculty position starting in August 2023. This new position is intended to provide leadership at the Department level in Corporate Relations and Professional Degree Program Management. The ideal candidate will have extensive background working with corporate partners and promoting / managing professional degree programs. Responsibilities include:

  *   Identifying and nurturing relationships with corporate partners to create opportunities for student engagement (internships, scholarships), capstone projects, funded research, and enrollment in professional degree programs.
  *   Expanding the reach of existing professional degree programs and identifying new opportunities.
  *   Assisting as needed in the delivery of senior design / capstone projects throughout the year.
  *   Assisting as needed in industry-sponsored research projects.
  *   Contributing to the academic mission by teaching design-based and engineering management courses.
  *   Offering seminars or short courses that focus on practical skills development.

We are seeking candidates with prior experience working in graduate education for working professionals. The candidate should be ready to support existing expertise within the IE capstone design structure, as well as assisting the College of Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences by providing synergy across departments and supporting client interaction in managing capstone design. The ideal candidate would also have background and an interest in introducing students to engineering management, project design, and business principles, possibly leading to new course offerings. Application areas of interest include supply chain, logistics, project design, transportation, healthcare, and sustainability.
