The Department of Nuclear Engineering and Industrial Management (NEIM) at the University of Idaho invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in all areas of industrial engineering, industrial technology and industrial management including operations research, data science, industrial electronics, and automation. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field and will demonstrate strong commitment to impactful research and teaching courses in the areas of their expertise and advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The faculty will be expected to develop a strong research program funded by external grant agencies and take advantage of the resources available at the Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES) and its associated facilities.

The proximity of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) as well as world-class agribusiness manufacturing facilities provides unmatched opportunities for faculty to develop research collaborations with INL scientists/engineers, Chobani, Glanbia, and others. The successful candidate will have the ability to meet the criteria for obtaining a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance. This position is located in Idaho Falls as part of the University of Idaho-Idaho Falls campus.
