Instructional Track Faculty Position - Industrial & Systems Engineering,

About the Position
The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Iowa invites applications for an Instructional Track faculty position in the rank of Lecturer with a tentative start date of August 2023.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a related field,
and will develop a teaching portfolio in some subset or combination of health care engineering, human factors, data analytics, and simulation. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Teaching courses in the department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate level
* Advising undergraduate students
* Contributing to department and college service activities
* Fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the position.
Applications are welcome for either full-time (100% - a 3-course teaching load per semester) or half-time (50% - a 3-course teaching load for the year). Both full- and half-time appointments receive full benefits.
Instructional Track Faculty play an important role in advancing the teaching excellence of the College of Engineering. Promotion and advancement opportunities are available for Lecturers.
About the Department
The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering<https://ise.engineering.uiowa.edu/> at the University of Iowa is one of six academic units housed within the College of Engineering. Departmental faculty collaborate with the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics and colleges across campus, including the College of Medicine, Pharmacy, Business, Public Health, and Liberal Arts and Sciences, as well as industrial and government organizations. The department has a diversified portfolio of funding sources through the NSF, DoD, NIH, foundations, and corporations. Our faculty are integrated into interdisciplinary research units: IIHR - Hydroscience and Engineering, Iowa Technology Institute, Public Policy Center, Injury Prevention Research Center, and the National Advanced Driving Simulator, among others.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* PhD in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
* Ability to teach and develop courses in health care engineering, human factors, safety, data analytics, or simulation
* Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience in teaching undergraduate engineering courses
* Interest in advancing engineering education
* Interest in teaching graduate courses in industrial engineering
