Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at RPI

Applications are invited for Ph.D. studies in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering<https://ise.rpi.edu/> (ISE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute<https://www.rpi.edu/> (RPI). We seek students with a strong background in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related fields.

Ph.D. students will be provided with tuition and a stipend to support their research and education.  All applications received by January 1st, 2024 will receive full consideration. Later applications will be considered until all positions are filled.

Faculty have a diverse set of research interests and focus on topics in supply chain management, discrete and online optimization, and game theory.

Specific Research Areas Include:
Capacity Allocation in Service Systems
Disaster Preparation and Response
Heuristics for ML-Driven Optimization
Last Mile Logistics
Mixed Integer Programming
Optimization for Statistics and ML
Physics-Informed Methods for Online Optimization/Learning
Supply Chain Resilience
Voting and Mechanism Design
