The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Mississippi State University is seeking applicants for two open tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. An endowed faculty position will be considered for outstanding applicants at the Full Professor level. While the department is interested in candidates with backgrounds in engineering management, logistics and next generation supply chains, production systems, healthcare and data science/analytics, qualified candidates in all areas of industrial and systems engineering are encouraged to apply and will be considered. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2024. A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field, is required. Applicants must have established or have demonstrated the ability to establish an extramurally sponsored research program with results published in refereed journals. Applicants should also have established or have demonstrated the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.



Mississippi State University is ranked as one of the top 100 research institutions in the United States and is designated by the Carnegie Institute as a very high research activity doctoral-granting institution. The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is one of eight academic departments in the College and offers an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree program in industrial engineering as well as master's and doctoral degrees. The department is ranked 19th in nation according to NSF research expenditures and is one of the most productive departments in the college and university.
