LECTURER POSITION

Department of Industrial Engineering Clemson University

The Department of Industrial Engineering at Clemson University invites applications for multiple full-time, non-tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Lecturer with an immediate start date. A successful candidate will be an engaging, effective, and versatile educator who is able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial engineering. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise and strong teaching interests in industrial engineering applications (e.g., supply chain/logistics, manufacturing systems, systems modeling) and human factors/ergonomics. The Lecturer may also contribute to the teaching mission of the department's Master of Engineering (MEng) online programs in industrial engineering and systems engineering.

Candidates are expected to adopt innovative educational practices as they develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Anticipated teaching load is 21 credits over a 12-month appointment. In addition to their primary instructional role, candidates may have responsibilities in advising and mentoring students, assisting with curriculum development and management, and contributing to internal and external service activities. An earned doctorate degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment is preferred, and evidence of teaching effectiveness or instructional support at the university level is expected.

The Department of Industrial Engineering currently has 23 full-time faculty members with anticipated growth to 28 faculty members within the next few years. We have a student population of 500 undergraduate students, 125 on-campus M.S. students, and 45 Ph.D. students. Furthermore, our online Master of Engineering (MEng) program currently enrolls 85 students. Additional information about the Department can be found at http://ie.clemson.edu. Clemson University, a Carnegie R1 institution, is a public land-grant University in South Carolina. The College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences is creating a rich environment for students to develop not only excellent technical skills but also a broad set of abilities that position them as the intellectual leaders of tomorrow.
