The Department of Industrial Engineering at Clemson University seeks applications and nominations for the Fluor Endowed Chair with an anticipated start date of August 2023. The position is supported by a $4M endowment created by Fluor Corporation and the State of South Carolina.

The Endowed Chair is the highest faculty designation at Clemson University. Successful candidates will have an exemplary record of scholarship, external research funding, teaching and service, and a research vision that promotes collaboration between Clemson IE, national and regional industry partners, and other stakeholders. We are seeking candidates who value collaboration, academic excellence, collegiality, and a diverse and inclusive work environment.

The position is open to all areas of industrial engineering and operations research; however, preference will be given to candidates working in the areas of optimization, artificial intelligence, and other data-driven methods for decision making. Individuals with a strong record of multidisciplinary research collaborations that address important societal challenges in application areas including supply chain and logistics, healthcare, sustainability, manufacturing, and transportation are especially encouraged to apply.
