The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of
Minnesota-Twin Cities invites applications to fill a full-time tenure-track
faculty position beginning fall 2023. Exceptional applicants, with
particularly strong records of research, teaching, scientific leadership
and creativity, will be considered for higher rank and tenure depending
upon experience and qualifications.



We seek and value candidates whose research is problem-driven and grounded
in a broad set of methodological foundations. Individuals whose interests
and backgrounds are at the intersection of Operations Research, Industrial
Engineering, or Data Analytics with other fields in Engineering, Computer
Science, and Statistics are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a
demonstrated interest in applications including, but not limited to
healthcare delivery and medical decision making, transportation and
mobility, supply chains and service operations, and energy systems and the
environment. We particularly welcome applications from candidates from
diverse cultures and communities. The Department of Industrial and Systems

Applicants should hold or expect to complete by fall 2023 a Ph.D. in
Engineering, Operations Research, Operations Management, or a related
discipline, and have demonstrated the potential to conduct a vigorous and
significant research program as evidenced by their publication record and
supporting reference letters. The candidate’s expertise and documented
research activities must demonstrate a strong potential to enhance both the
department’s research and teaching missions. The successful candidate is
expected to build a strong, externally funded, highly visible research
program and to become a recognized leader. Information on current research

variety of classes related to industrial engineering at both the graduate
and undergraduate levels to a diverse group of students is required.
