Subject: Call for judges for IISE Doctoral Colloquium Dissertation Pitch
The Council of Industrial Engineering Academic Department Heads (CIEADH) is organizing a doctoral colloquium and dissertation pitch competition to be held at the IISE Annual Conference.
The organizing committee is looking for volunteers to serve as judges at the IISE Doctoral Colloquium dissertation pitch, to be held Sun. May 22, 3:00 – 5:00 pm (PDT) changed to 12:30 - 2:30 pm. This will be an in-person event.
To volunteer, please send an e-mail to me at jshortle at gmu.edu<mailto:jshortle at gmu.edu>.
This is a nice opportunity to serve IISE and to encourage our students.
Judging responsibilities
* Each judge will be assigned to one of several sessions.
* Each session will consist of approximately 10-12 student presentations.
* Each student will present their research for up to 3 minutes, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A, and a short break to record scores.
* Judges will submit scores via an online survey platform. This can be done during or after the presentations.
* If judges wish to view the presentation slides prior to the competition, these will be made available.
* Winners will be announced at the CIEADH meeting on Monday.
Thank you for your consideration.
