Position Description

The Tagliatela College of Engineering at the University of New Haven invites applications for a full-time tenure track assistant professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) with a focus on supply chain operational analytics. Candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching and strong scholarly and grant funding records in related areas may be considered for an associate professor rank. The expected start date is August 23, 2022.


 Responsibilities:

  *   Develop and teach new and innovative courses in industrial and systems engineering (ISE), primarily in engineering analytics and artificial intelligence applications related to supply chain operation problems and other data modeling areas, and develop related certificate programs
  *   Work with the ISE and other faculty across the university to plan and develop new market-driven program(s) that address industry needs and attract students
  *   Teach undergraduate and graduate ISE courses such as supply chain management, analytics and resilience, probability theory, and stochastic processes
  *   Engage in scholarly work and seek external funding to support research
  *   Lead and contribute to ongoing instructional innovation efforts in the ISE programs such as developing and teaching courses with interactive lab components and adopting effective pedagogical practices
  *   Contribute to coordination of the ISE programs including advising students and participating in recruitment events
  *   Supervise student internships, projects, and theses
  *   Participate in industry/client-sponsored projects with students
  *   Provide service to the Department, College and University


Qualifications:

  *   Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering, operations research, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related field
  *   Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research excellence
  *   Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collegiality and teamwork
  *   A record of scholarly accomplishments
  *   Prior teaching and/or industrial experience will be considered favorably
  *   Authorization to work in the U.S
