The Department of Industrial Engineering, at the University of Pittsburgh in the Swanson School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time appointment stream Assistant Professor position. Please note that while this position is not in the tenure stream, it does provide strong job security as well as the opportunity for professional growth to the associate and full professor ranks.
Applicants should have a strong interest in teaching a variety of core industrial engineering topics. Applicants must hold a PhD in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate must have outstanding teaching abilities that complement and enhance the teaching and research mission of the Swanson School. The individual will be expected to prepare and teach courses in multiple core IE areas within the program including (but not necessarily limited to) engineering management, supply chain, productivity analysis, human factors, facility layout and product design at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The faculty will also be responsible for advising students and collaborating with industry partners to ensure relevance of the curriculum.
