Dear colleagues,
We are in the process of setting up sessions for the INFORMS Annual Meeting 2022 to take place October 16-19 in Indianapolis, IN. Thus, we invite you to organize and chair a session for the Minority Issues Forum (MIF) cluster. The topic can be technical or any other relevant to our community.
It is important that you know about some changes to this year's meeting. INFORMS has the goal of scheduling the sessions on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The sessions will be 75-minute-long and will have three formats: regular-talks with 4 talks in a single session, flash-talks with 10 talks in a single session, and posters. Flash-talks and posters will also have the option of uploading a 15-minute video that supports their content. Also, only one presentation per registrant will be allowed.
The meeting will maintain a balance of regular-talks, flash-talks, and poster sessions. Consequently, session chairs organizing a regular-talk session are required to identify presenters for their session and in addition a minimum of one flash-talk presenter. The flash-talk presenter(s) will later be merged at the cluster level and formed into flash-talk sessions. Session chairs are encouraged to explicitly announce the flash-talk presentation option at the time of author invitation and prioritize finding the flash-talk presenter(s).
If you are interested in organizing a MIF invited session, please submit the information about your session before March 10 using the following link https://forms.office.com/r/grBzq3GsmR
You are welcome to organize a session (under regular-talk or flash-talk format), a jointly sponsored session, a panel session, or other special sessions. If you want to organize more than one session, please fill in an additional survey. Sessions under regular-talk format should focus on a single theme while sessions under flash-talk format can focus on one or multiple topics.
The session chair will be responsible for adding speakers to the INFORMS conference system before May 2, 2022. If a session chair is organizing a regular-talk session, the system will allow her/him to clearly indicate the required flash-talk and any additional flash-talks during submission. If you only have a number of speakers slightly lower than the number required for a session, you may contact Dr. Clara Novoa (cn17 at txstate.edu<mailto:cn17 at txstate.edu>), Dr. Diana Ramirez-Rios (ramird3.edu<mailto:ramird3.edu>), or Sofia Perez-Guzman (perezs at rpi.edu<mailto:perezs at rpi.edu>) to discuss merge options.
If you have already agreed to organize a session or submitted an abstract, please ask your cluster or session chair to consider co-sponsoring your session with MIF.
We look forward to hearing from you and we apologize for any double-posting.
Thank you!
