The Department of Systems Engineering and Operations Research at George Mason University invites student design teams (undergraduate and master’s level) to participate in the 5th Annual Andrew P. Sage Memorial Capstone Design Competition. The conference will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022. Teams can compete virtually or in person (on the Fairfax, VA campus).

Professor Andrew P. Sage was one of the Founding Fathers of the field of Systems Engineering and was the first dean of the School of Information Technology and Engineering at George Mason University (now the College of Engineering and Computing).

The Andrew P. Sage Memorial Capstone Design Competition is a student-focused forum for the design of complex systems. The competition is a leading showcase for undergraduate and graduate (masters) design projects, such as those from capstone design courses or from baccalaureate, honors, or design-oriented graduate theses. Designs should demonstrate systems engineering skills and knowledge to perform all the activities associated with a systems developmental life cycle.

The conference website and call for papers can be found at https://easychair.org/cfp/SMDC22
