Job Description:

The Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering Department (IMSE) in the College of Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for one full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor level with an anticipated start date of fall 2022. Candidates with strengths in Big Data Analytics and AI in Industrial and Systems Engineering are encouraged to apply. Special emphasis will be placed on applicants with a record of research accomplishments in (1) Systems Analysis and Optimization, (2) Smart Manufacturing, (3) Quality and Reliability Engineering and (4) Stochastic Analysis and Simulation. Qualified applicants in all areas of Industrial and Systems Engineering such as Logistics and Supply Chain, Healthcare, Energy, Manufacturing, Robotics, and Cyber-security will be considered for the position.

Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong extramurally funded research program, teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses, contribute to mentoring students and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. We look for applicants with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who have demonstrated the ability to work in a team environment, and to provide leadership and guidance in a multidisciplinary program.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. Demonstrated scholarly achievements as evidenced by a track-record of publications. Demonstrated potential for establishing an extramurally funded research program. Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in academia. Excellent communication skills are required.
