The Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at West Virginia University invites applications and nominations for anticipated multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor in Systems Analytics, Human Factors and Ergonomics, and Safety Engineering and/or Management. Anticipated start date is August 2022.

  *   The specific research areas of interest for the Systems Analytics position include but are not limited to optimization and stochastic processes with applications in Manufacturing, Service Engineering/Design, Sensor Networks, IoT, Logistics, and Healthcare.
  *   The specific research areas of interest for the Human Factors and Ergonomics position include but are not limited to Physical and/or Cognitive aspects of Human-system integration with applications in Human Adaptation and Interaction with Technology (Robotics, Co-Bots, Prosthetics, Exoskeletons, AR/XR, and Wearable Devices) and User-Centered Design.
  *   The specific research areas of interest for the Safety Engineering and/or Management position include but are not limited to the theory and practice of Occupational Safety for application areas such as Process Planning and Control, Risk Management, Disaster Preparedness, Resiliency Planning, Worker's Compensation, Substance Abuse, Patient Handling, Environmental and Personnel Hazards, and Fire Prevention.
  *

The successful candidates must have the ability to (1) teach lecture, laboratory, or design courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, (2) develop and sustain an independent, nationally recognized, externally-sponsored research program, (3) collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams of faculty and other researchers across colleges and institutions, and (4) be engaged in professional activities. Candidates for the rank of Associate Professor must have an outstanding record of teaching, research, and service.

Eligible candidates for Systems Analytics and Human Factors and Ergonomics positions must hold at the time of appointment an earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, with at least one degree in Industrial Engineering.

Eligible candidates for Safety Engineering and/or Management position must hold at the time of appointment an earned doctorate in a Safety related discipline, with at least one degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) field.
