 Data Analytics and Information Systems (DAIS) Professional Achievement
Award

The purpose of this award is to recognize an exceptional individual working
in a field other than academia who has made significant contributions to
the field of data analytics and information systems over a period of at
least 15 years of professional experience after the highest degree, with
the cumulative impact of those contributions on data analytics and
information systems being the deciding factor.

Individuals may make contributions to any or all of the following
categories:


   - Efforts and contribution to data analytics and information systems
   education
   - Dissemination of knowledge,
   - Contributions to advance research,
   - Commitment to mentoring, and
   - Improvement of the field's position or visibility,
   - Contributions to practice.

Application Process

   - The candidate must be an IISE and a DAIS member.
   - The candidate must be nominated by the supervisor or director of the
   candidate.
   - Nominations may be made anonymously or by anybody including
   self-nominations.
   - The onus of demonstrating merit is on the nominator.

The nomination package must include the following elements


   - Cover letter
   - Curriculum Vitae of the nominee
   - A detailed description of the nominee's main achievements to the
   profession, supported by the necessary documents
   - At least two, but no more than four, letters of recommendation
   attesting to the nominee's relevance and extent of professional
   accomplishments. Each letter of recommendation must be written by a single
   individual.

Evaluation Process

The nominee will be evaluated on the following criteria (weighting in
parenthesis) on a five-point scale (1 being the minimum and 5 being the
maximum):


   - Contributions to advance research and practice (30 percent)
   - Dissemination of knowledge, improvement of the field's standing, or
   increased visibility (30 percent)
   - Mentorship commitment (20 percent)
   - Efforts and contribution to data analytics education (20 percent)

All supporting documents in the nomination package must be submitted in a
single PDF format. Please email applications to the committee chairs Dr.
Fei Gao <asugaofei at gmail.com> and Dr. Sinan Onal <sonal at siue.edu> president
of the IISE- DAIS.

   - Nominations deadline: *Feb. 28, 2022*
   - Winner will be notified: *March 31, 2022*
