The Indian Institute of Management @ Bangalore (IIM-B) seeks to recruit faculty for the Decision Sciences Area. Candidates with a strong commitment to high quality research and teaching in Statistics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or a closely related field are invited to apply. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong expertise in nonlinear optimization and its interface with machine learning methods.

We invite applications for faculty positions at all levels. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must have completed (or be close to completing) their PhD and demonstrate capability for carrying out high quality research and teaching. IIM-B offers a generous package for tenure-track faculty including reduced teaching loads, support for multiple domestic and international conferences, PhD students, and guidance/mentoring from senior faculty. Associate Professors should have a strong track record of research publications in top-tier journals and have an established teaching record. Full Professors are additionally expected to provide academic leadership towards the Area and the Institute. Faculty at IIM-B are expected to contribute towards the Institute's MBA, Doctoral, and Executive Programmes.

IIM-B provides plenty of options to work closely with both industry and government sectors, in addition to providing an excellent academic environment to conduct research and teaching. Decision Sciences is a dynamic and growing interdisciplinary area and offers a vibrant research environment and hosts well-established research groups in Statistics, Operations Research, and Data Analytics/Data Science. The candidate is expected to establish a strong research program that strengthens the department's existing research and teaching capabilities, foster collaboration with existing faculty, mentor MBA and PhD students, explore collaborations with industry, and contribute towards the growth of the Area, including but not limited towards the newly launched MBA in Business Analytics.
