The School of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Oregon State University invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term Research Associate (Mechatronics/Manufacturing Engineering) position.

This Research Associate in the School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) will train and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, help design and carry out experiments, and conduct original research in mechatronics, manufacturing engineering, and engineering education. This position will also contribute to development of online courses as a part of the manufacturing engineering program.

MIME comprises over 60 academic faculty and instructors, 20 professional faculty, staff and research associates who support nearly 2000 undergraduate and graduate students. MIME offers undergraduate degrees in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, and a new online certificate program in Mechatronics for Manufacturing Engineering through funding from the National Science Foundation. The School of MIME houses a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative group of faculty and staff in Advanced Manufacturing pursuing the broad areas of automation, sensor fusion, smart and sustainable manufacturing, micro- and nano-manufacturing, materials science, and computational modeling.
