PhD Degree in Data Science, Analytics and Engineering (DSE)

Arizona State University (ASU) has established a new PhD degree program in Data Science, Analytics and Engineering. Applications are now being accepted for Fall 2021.
The DSE program draws together faculty from the Schools of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering (CIDSE), Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (SoMSS) and Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering (ECEE) at ASU to provide a unique educational experience leading to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.  The program is designed to develop the next generation of data scientists that will advance the state-of-the-art in data analytics and data engineering. Students will complete a foundational core covering database management, information assurance, statistical learning and statistical theory before choosing to focus on Data Analytics or Data Engineering, culminating in the production of an original research dissertation. Program graduates will be prepared to lead in creating and deploying the next generation of data analysis and engineering tools to meet societal needs in business, government and science for data-driven discovery of new knowledge and decision making.
