The School of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the Gallogly College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma is seeking applications for a full time, renewable term assistant professor of practice in Industrial and Systems Engineering. This position is expected to provide instruction across areas of systems engineering for a new on-line MS program in ISE. Areas of special interest for teaching include Systems Engineering topics to include Cost Analysis, Requirements Analysis, Model-Based Systems Engineering, Project Management, Software Engineering/Knowledge Management, and Reliability and Maintenance Engineering.  A successful candidate will be employed on a three-year, renewable contract.
Applicants should hold an earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Applicants must be committed to excellence in the practice and teaching of industrial and systems engineering at the graduate levels, in an on-line format. Applicants with demonstrated experience either as a practicing engineer with industry or military, or as an instructor of graduate level courses, will be given preference. The assistant professor of practice will have an 80% commitment to the teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses and 20% commitment to instructional service and/or research. The nature of the service requirement will be determined by the professor of practice in consultation with the Director and could include student advising, guiding student projects, helping to structure and foster the on-line graduate program mission of the school, contributing to the scholarship of teaching and learning, participating in departmental and university committees, and other appropriate activities.
