Dear all,
You are invited to attend the 1st INFORMS workshop on QSR. The workshop
will be held on October 23, 2021. The workshop welcomes both virtual and
in-person attendees and speakers. The workshop will host the *data
challenge competition* and *best student paper competition*. *Prof. Jeff Wu*
will be our keynote speaker.

The Quality, Statistics & Reliability (QSR) Section of INFORMS is
organizing the *First QSR workshop at INFORMS Annual Meeting*. The workshop
will be held in person and virtually on *October 23*, prior to the 2021
INFORMS Annual Meeting.
You are invited to join us and present your recent research and experience
at the workshop. You will find more details about the activities below.

*Keynote Speaker **–* *Professor C.F. Jeff Wu**, the Coca-Cola Chair in
Engineering Statistics and Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of
Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech*, will be our keynote
speaker. Prof. Wu was elected a Member of the National Academy of
Engineering (2004), and a Member (Academician) of Academia Sinica (2000).
He is a fellow of American Society for Quality, of Institute of
Mathematical Statistics, of INFORMS, and of American Statistical
Association. He received the COPSS Presidents’ Award in 1987, COPSS Fisher
Lecture Award in 2011, and Deming Lecture in 2012. He has won other awards,
including Shewhart Medal (2008), and Pan Wenyuan Technology Award (2008).
He was the 1998 Mahalanobis Memorial Lecturer at the Indian Statistical
Institutes, received the inaugural Akaike Memorial Lecture Award in 2016,
the 2017 Box Medal from ENBIS, and an honorary doctor degree at the
University of Waterloo. Prof. Wu has published more than 185 research
articles and supervised 50 Ph.D.'s, out of which more than half are
teaching in major research departments in statistics/engineering/business.
Among them, there are 23 Fellows of ASA, IMS, ASQ, IAQ, and IISE.
