IISE Annual Conference 2021

This award recognizes student members whose paper and presentation in the Energy Systems Track at the Annual IISE Conference both represent the highest level of excellence.


 Eligibility

  *   Member of IISE and the ES division.
  *   Currently registered student.
  *   Main author of a full paper (in addition to an abstract) submitted the Energy Systems Track of the 2021 IISE      Annual Conference.
  *   Presenter at the Energy System Track of the 2021 IISE Annual Conference.

 Application process

  *   Candidates must submit an abstract to the ES Track (current deadline: November 29th, 2020)
  *   After abstract submission, candidates must indicate their intent to enter the competition via email to Dr. Aziz Ezzat (aziz.ezzat at rutgers.edu<mailto:aziz.ezzat at rutgers.edu>), chair of the Energy Systems Best Student Paper Award Competition. The email should be titled: "Intent Notification - 2021 ES Best Student Paper Award"
  *   The notification email must include: 1) student's full name; 2) academic affiliation; 3) abstract ID.
  *   A paper can be entered into both the "Energy Systems Track Best Paper Award" and the "Energy Systems Best Student Paper Award" competition.
  *   Intent notifications are due by January 24th, 2021.

 Evaluation Process

  *   Papers will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and 3-4 finalists will be invited to present at a special session of the ES Track.
  *   The Best Paper Award will be determined based on a combined score of paper and presentation.

 Recognition Process (first place only)

  *   Framed certificate
  *   Recognition at the Annual Conference: at the ES Town Hall Meeting, and before the final day keynote address
  *   Recognition in the IISE Magazine
  *   Recognition at the ES website and in the newsletter

 Deadlines

  *   Abstract submission deadline: November 29, 2020
  *   Full paper submission deadline: January 24, 2021
  *   Intent notification deadline: January 24, 2021
  *   Finalists notified: March 15, 2021
  *   Winner notified: shortly after the "Best Student Paper award competition" special session in the Energy Systems Track has concluded.
