Dear colleagues,
The Engineering Economy Division of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the Engineering Economy Track at the 2021 IISE Annual Conference & Expo. The conference is a forum for exchanging knowledge and discoveries by academicians and practitioners.
We encourage you to submit a 250-word abstract to our track via the online submission system. Abstract submission is expected to open on September 27, 2020. Abstracts that are accepted for oral presentation will be available on the conference website and can be cited. Authors can claim them as refereed abstracts. These abstracts will not be copyrighted or indexed in the conference proceedings. Abstracts are welcome in areas such as
* Asset Management
* Capital Investment Analysis
* Financial Engineering
* Cost/Benefit Analysis
* Prices and Portfolios
* Real Options
* Life-Cycle Cost Assessment/Management
* Energy and Engineering Economy
* Value Chain Management
* Technology Replacement Management
* Engineering Economy Education
* Entrepreneurship and Innovation
* Economics of Supply Chain Management
* Analytics in Engineering Economy
* Other areas in economic and investment analysis
Authors of abstracts that are accepted for oral presentation will present their work in a conference session. Regular sessions will be 80 minutes and include up to four presenters. Authors of these abstracts will be encouraged to submit (via the online system) an optional six-page paper for double-blind peer review for the conference proceedings. These papers should contain methods and results that are significant and have archival value. All accepted papers will be copyrighted and indexed in the conference proceedings via ProQuest. We will also hold a best track paper competition. Authors of six-page papers will be given the opportunity to participate in this competition without having to publish that paper in the proceedings and thus without releasing its copyright.
If your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author must register for the conference. Otherwise, the presentation will be withdrawn from the program. If such a withdrawn presentation is associated with an accepted six-page paper for the proceedings, that paper will also be removed. The presenting author must attend and present the work in a session at the conference. We request that authors be ready to review other papers in the track.
Some important deadlines are as follows.
Abstract submission November 15, 2020
Notification of decision on abstract December 14, 2020
Six-page paper submission (optional) January 24, 2021
Notification of decision on six-page paper February 28, 2021
Final revised submission of six-page paper March 14, 2021
Presenting author registration March 14, 2021
There are also opportunities to organize invited sessions, panels, and tutorials. In addition to research and practitioner presentations, the annual conference offers many opportunities for attendees, including plant tours, networking, and keynote speakers.
The Engineering Economy track has two awards judged by the paper submissions: Division best paper and student best paper awards (www.iise.org/Details.aspx?id=38048<http://www.iise.org/Details.aspx?id=38048>). All accepted and eligible papers will be reviewed and evaluated for these awards. The first-place winners will get framed certificates and their names will be listed in Honors & Awards program.
We look forward to receiving your abstracts.
